Garuda Indonesia resumes Hong Kong flights.

Garuda Indonesia has resumed flights from Surabaya and Bali (Denpasar) to Hong Kong as part of their strategy to increase the number of airports on their route network during 2009. Flights re commenced this week and the Bali - Hong Kong route gets four flights a week (Mon, Weds, Fri, Sat) using Boeing 737-800 Next Generation (NG). Seat capacity is 156 passengers, with 12 seats in business class and 144 seats in economy. Meanwhile the Surabaya to HKG services operate three times per week (Tue, Thurs, Sun) again using modern Boeing737-800NG jets with similar seating capacity. On days where no direct flights operate there are flights excellent connections available via Jakarta.

In the past few weeks Garuda Indonesia has inaugurated no less than seven new routes which include the two Hong Kong resumptions, also from Singapore to Yogyakarta, Bali to Shanghai and from Jakarta to Lampung, Kendrai and Malang.

Garuda Indonesia currently flies to 24 domestic and 18 international destinations. Its fleet of 56 sophisticated and modern aircraft comprises the B747-400, A330, B737NG and B737 series. The gradual arrival of Garuda Indonesia’s new fleet additions expects to commence in mid 2009 with the arrival of 50 B737-800 Next Generation (NG) and 10 B777-300ERs in 2010.

These certainly are exciting times for Garuda Indonesia.
