Garuda Indonesia has reopend it’s direct link between Jogjakarta and Singapore with non stop flights once again connecting the two cities.
The new flight was launched at Adisucipto Airport at a ceremony attended by dignitaries from Central Java tourism and officials of Garuda Indonesia. Garuda EVP Ops. Capt. Sapari stressed the airlines commitment to Central Java and reinforced their position as an airline committed to linking cities in Indonesia with major commercial and leisure destinations in SE Asia.
Jero Wacik, Java Tourism minister added that the new flight will strengthen and invite more tourism to Jogjakarta and offer better access for other Asian airports.
Flights operate on Tues, Thurs and Saturday leaving Singapore at 1610 with an arrival in Jogjakarta at 1720, the return departs Jogjakarta at 1800 and lands in Singapore at 2110 which is a flight time of 2h 10mins. A Boeing 737 seating 110 passengers in Business and Economy class will operate the service.
On days when the direct flight does not operate passengers can travel via Jakarta where a change of aircraft is necessary, however, the journey will take 4h 30mins!! Based on that fact alone Garuda Indonesia should be able to attract enough custom to reach their passenger target over the coming year. To achieve their goal every direct Garuda flight on the Singapore-Jogjakarta and v.v. route will have to achieve an average load factor of 93%.
