
China Airlines, Taiwan's largest international carrier has signed an agreement with Garuda Indonesia to broaden their cooperative service to passengers traveling throughout Asia. Under the new agreement, the two carriers will expand their code-sharing, operate a joint frequent flyer program, strengthen cooperation in passenger and cargo flight service and jointly launch pilot simulator training programs.
Since 1991, the two carriers have been code-sharing on Taipei- Denpasar, Taipei-Jakarta and Taipei-Singapore-Surabaya flights, have been offering inter-line check-in services and have had a prorated agreement for passengers and cargo.
CAL also has code-sharing agreements with Alitalia, Czech Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Korean Air, Thai Airways, Vietnam Airlines and Deutsche Bahn German Rail System. CAL operates a fleet of 66 aircraft and provides flights to 89 destinations in 29 countries.
