Jambi
Jambi is the starting point for excursions to the archealogical site of Muara Jambi. The large temple complex is the most important Hindu-Buddhist site in Sumatra. For centuries the site lay abandoned and overgrown in the jungle before being rediscovered in 1920.

Language
Main language is Jambi Malay with Indonesian also spoken in larger communities.
